And Dominique Ropion takes our breath away again with another incredible floral composition, centered around the unconventional beauty of tuberose, a bloom that Aztecs named the boneflower and Victorians believed its smell will provoke impure thoughts in the minds of young women. Oh, the naïveté! As if a flower could be more dangerous than the woman herself!

A lot of skill went into balancing this fragrance between the two polar opposites of the tuberose: its narcotic, fleshy side with nuances of rubber and warm skin and the sweetly, almost innocent one with prominent, slightly green, mentholated floralcy. And “Carnal Flower” it’s simply the best of both worlds: a luscious silk of a scent, that ripples in satin white waves, alternating between dewy freshness and voluptuous sensuality, never too heady, but not too prim either and very, very close to the actual smell of tuberose flowers in their natural habitat, green stems, leaves and all.

Exquisite, sinuous, rich, pure, joyful and enveloping, “Carnal Flower” is a sublime, emotional, passionate love poem for one of the most fascinating odorous plants in the vegetal kingdom. Absolutely perfect!
