Oh la la! We haven’t smelled such a beautiful rendition of a lily in a very long time. Roja Dove creates a stupendously rich white floral, to be worn with a satin dress under a fur coat at a glamorous occasion. Very indolic and spicy, “Lily” shimmers languidly like pearls warmed by the heat of the skin and it exerts the retro fascination of a screen siren from the forties. In spite of its old world feel, “Lily” is never an apathetic, stiff pastiche, on the contrary, it pulsates with energy, with the exotic, narcotic aroma of live flowers, to the degree that you’d be hard-pressed to guess which one is the perfume and which one is the real life lily. The secret to this vibrancy is not to strip the lily clean off its pollen heavy funk, but to enhance that nose tickling spiciness and creamy tropical sweetness which makes lily a difficult flower for some. The gold detail is screen-printed in England onto the glass by hand in a process that takes three days to complete. The front of each bottle is adorned with a golden plaque applied to the glass by hand in England. Each precious bottle sits within an equally precious presentation box that is hand assembled in England by award winning craftsmen who use the finest quality papers, woods, and silks, many of which are created exclusively for Roja Parfums.
